A change of train platform
Follow a passenger who reads a station notice and finds the correct platform.
Eva arrives at the station at half past nine. She is travelling to visit her cousin in Hillford. Her ticket says the train leaves at ten, and the screen above the entrance shows platform two. She buys a bottle of water and walks towards the stairs.
Near the stairs, she sees a new notice:
The ten o’clock train to Hillford will leave from platform five today. The departure time has not changed. Please follow the blue signs to platform five. Staff are available beside the ticket machines if you need help.
Eva stops to read the notice twice. She does not need to buy another ticket, but she needs to go to a different platform. She follows the blue signs through a short tunnel.
On platform five, she checks the train’s destination before getting on. It says Hillford. She finds a seat by the window and sends her cousin a message. The platform changed, but she is still on the right train and ready to leave at ten.
