When Leo moved into a small flat, he discovered that he owned far more things than he needed. There were books he had already read, two extra lamps and a box of unused cups. He wanted to pass them on, but he did not know anyone in the building.

He asked the building manager whether residents could organise a swap table in the shared room. The idea was simple: bring something useful that you no longer need, and take something you can use. The manager agreed to try it for one Saturday afternoon.

Leo made a poster explaining the rules. Everything had to be clean and in good condition. Large furniture was not allowed because the room was small. At the end of the afternoon, owners would take home anything that remained.

At first, only three neighbours arrived. Then a family brought some puzzles, and an older resident offered a collection of travel books. Soon people were exchanging stories as well as objects. Leo discovered that one neighbour had visited a city he hoped to see.

Not everything found a new home, but the afternoon achieved more than Leo expected. The neighbours decided to meet again the following month. His flat was less crowded, and the building felt a little more familiar.
