Borrowing a classroom projector
Read a fictional equipment-loan message in this A2 lesson. Check what to bring and return, with vocabulary and five questions with answers.
Niko goes to an evening language class for adults. On Thursday, he plans to give a short talk about his home town. He wants to show some photos, so he asks the centre office to borrow a projector.
Leila, who works in the office, sends him a message.
“Hello Niko. You can use our projector for your talk. It shows pictures from your computer on the classroom wall. The loan includes three things: the projector, one cable and a bag. It does not include a laptop, so please bring your own. You can collect the equipment from me before the class. I can help you connect it to your laptop.
There is a checklist inside the bag. Please return all three items to the office after your class that evening. Another class needs them the next morning. Thank you!”
Niko puts his laptop and notes in his own bag. At the centre, he collects the equipment and reads the checklist with Leila. They try the projector before the other learners arrive. His photos appear clearly on the wall.
After his talk, Niko checks the list again. He has the projector and its bag, but where is the cable? He finds it under a chair. He puts all three items together and takes them back to Leila.
